Transforming neighborhoods of challenge into neighborhoods of promise.

Serving a population of at-risk children, Rocketship Education helps “elementary school students reach academic proficiency” by creating vibrant and healthy schools where they are needed most: in the heart of “high-needs neighborhoods.”

Located in San Jose, California, the new two-story Rocketship Los Sueños Academy built by Enviroplex represents how stakeholders carefully and purposefully sought to maximize space and dollars spent to support student learning. Situated on a tight, urban site, the 20,800-square-foot building with its back-to-back design and 8-foot-wide interior corridor synthesizes the functional requirements of the school with the population it serves. The three-coat stucco exterior enhances a strong vertical form that reduces streetscape bulk and creates a compact two-story footprint. This striking facility is energy-efficient, durable and a perfect example of what can be accomplished with limited funding on an impacted urban site while emphasizing the value of education.
